within the csl sim insight platform, s are managed using a group based model rather than configuring each sim individually, sims are placed into s that define how they behave and how they are managed why groups are used groups allow you to manage sims consistently and at scale instead of applying settings one sim at a time, configuration is controlled at group level each group defines a combination of operational settings, including tariff rules regional restrictions bundle allowances warning thresholds cut off limits this structure removes the need to manage these parameters individually and ensures consistency across your sim estate sim lifecycle and groups sims typically move through different stages during their lifecycle for example held in stock (non chargeable) test or commissioning phase fully deployed and chargeable suspended or deactivated groups are used to represent these operational stages when sims are ordered, they are placed into a by default this group usually allows limited usage so sims can be tested without immediately entering a fully chargeable live state activating a sim in its simplest form, activation involves moving a sim from the pending group into an appropriate live group this action is performed through the page of the platform diagram showing how sims move between groups in the csl sim insight platform new sims start in a non chargeable pending group with a small test allowance, move into chargeable live groups with defined services, bundles, and regional restrictions, and can be moved into a non chargeable suspended group when out of service arrows indicate possible transitions between groups automatic activation for some sim types, an automatic activation option may be available in this scenario, a sim can automatically move from the pending group into a predefined activation group once a configured test allowance is exceeded this is typically triggered when the sim is deployed into its operational environment the group based structure is central to how the platform operates and forms the foundation for efficient management of large sim estates
