The LBS (Location Based Services) section provides visibility of LBS query results.
LBS allows authorised users to retrieve approximate device location information where supported by the SIM type and network.
LBS Log
The LBS Log records the results of Location Based Service queries.
Queries can be initiated:
- From the SIM Focus page (for supported SIM types)
- Via the Portal API
Each log entry records the outcome of the location request.
Supported SIM types
LBS queries are available for:
- Manx Telecom SIMs
- Most KPN SIMs
- Most Tele2 SIMs
Availability depends on network support and SIM configuration.

How LBS queries work
When a location query is made:
- The request is sent to the relevant network provider
- The returned result is logged in the LBS Log
- Where supported, location data may include cell-based positioning
LBS accuracy depends on network data availability and SIM type.
When to use LBS
LBS is typically used when:
- Investigating device location
- Supporting operational troubleshooting
- Validating device deployment
- Retrieving approximate location for supported SIM types
